Last year, STARR created and implemented a DFIRM Quality Review Tracking Database in their regions to improve the consistency of reviews and enable better tracking of mapping issues that were found during the review process.
Working with the quality leads at FEMA and the other PTS, the database was vetted, modified to cover some special needs in other regions, and deployed to a web platform on April 26, 2011. The database is now available for use in all ten FEMA regions for QR3 and QR7 review, and has over 100 registered users.
The database provides one location for all quality reviews. The system also allows Mapping Partners to directly enter their responses to Quality Review comments, aiding in issue tracking and resolution. The database is designed to easily produce reports on specific quality issues, mapping partner effectiveness in meeting quality standards, and monthly statistics for use in other reports.
